CLAIMBELL

ClaimBell Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-03

ClaimBell needs an account and keeps your family space on our server so every member sees the same reminders. We show only what people chose to share, never what we observed, and we sell nothing about you.

1. What never happens

  • No password: you sign in with a one-time email code or a login link.
  • No precise location, no contacts upload, no photo albums, no chat. People are added by hand.
  • Reminding is not monitoring. Opening or viewing an action link creates no receipt, no "seen" state and no event. Nothing nudges anyone about an unanswered reminder.
  • A birth year can stay blank; we never fill in a placeholder year.
  • No advertising, no ad SDKs, no sale of data, no cross-app tracking.
  • The 1.0 apps send no usage analytics from your device.

2. Data we touch

2.1 Your account

Data: your email address, a random account identifier, your sign-in sessions and registered devices, your locale and time zone.

Used to: sign you in and keep your devices in sync.

Who: WorkOS delivers the sign-in code or link; our server in the United States holds the account.

Basis: performing the contract with you.

Kept: until you delete the account (section 5).

2.2 Your family space

Data: the people you add (name, relationship, optional birthday, email, notes), dates, jobs, reminder rules, delivery and consent records, invitations, and who holds the Owner role.

Used to: show every member the same space and send the reminders you set.

Who: WaveApp LLC and its hosting and security providers in the United States.

Basis: performing the contract; for people you add who have no account, our legitimate interest in running the reminder you asked for, bounded by section 3.

Kept: until the Owner deletes the record or the family. The Owner can export the whole family as one JSON file at any time, free.

2.3 Reminders, invitations and action links

Data: the destination (an email address or a device push token), the message, and a signed link.

Used to: deliver a reminder, an invitation or a sign-in link.

Who: Resend sends the email; Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers the push.

Basis: performing the contract. A person without an account gets a consent and unsubscribe path before external reminders start, and a family member cannot override that person's choice.

Kept: an action link works for 14 days and can be revoked earlier. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.

2.4 Purchase and entitlement

Data: the store receipt and transaction identifiers for a Pro subscription, tied to the family space.

Used to: unlock Pro for the family, restore it, and send the purchaser one advance notice three days before a trial converts.

Who: Apple App Store or Google Play takes the payment; RevenueCat confirms the entitlement. We never see your card number.

Basis: performing the purchase contract.

Kept: by the store under its own terms; by RevenueCat while ClaimBell is on sale, so Restore purchase keeps working.

2.5 Product events on our server

Data: four counted events: first reminder scheduled, job claimed, invitation accepted, subscription activated. Each carries only product, environment, platform and release. Never a name, an email, an identifier, a title, a date or free text.

Used to: know whether the product works and whether the paywall converts.

Who: PostHog, United States.

Basis: our legitimate interest in running the product.

Kept: by PostHog under its terms; our own send queue clears delivered rows after 30 days and failed rows after 90 days.

The apps also carry one client event behind a fixed allow-list. The 1.0 apps ship without an analytics key, so it is not sent. If a later release turns it on, this page and the store declarations change first.

2.6 Support email

Data: what you write to hi@claimbell.com, and your address.

Used to: answer you.

Kept: 12 months after the thread closes.

2.7 The website

claimbell.com uses PostHog for anonymous page analytics: page views and exits, selected buttons, store links, campaign tags and referring site. Session recording, heatmaps and location lookup are off. Invitation, consent, action-link and signed-in pages send no analytics. Hosting and security providers process your IP address to deliver the site; ClaimBell keeps no separate access log.

3. People who have no account

Someone you add to your family space did not sign up. So we hold only what you entered about them, we use it only for the reminder you set, and through the link they see only that reminder. They can stop external reminders at any time with the unsubscribe path, and they can write to hi@claimbell.com to have their details removed. You must have the authority to add them.

4. Processors

  • Apple App Store and Google Play — payment and receipts (United States).
  • RevenueCat — entitlement confirmation and restore purchase (United States).
  • WorkOS — sign-in codes and links (United States).
  • Resend — email delivery (United States).
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — push delivery (United States).
  • PostHog — product and website analytics (United States).
  • Hosting and security providers — delivery and protection of site, server and database traffic (United States).

Each acts on our instructions under its data processing terms. Nobody else receives data from ClaimBell. Data from the EU or the UK reaches the United States under the transfer safeguards each processor provides.

5. Deleting your account

In the app, open Settings > Data and privacy > Delete account and type DELETE. That clears your email and sign-in identity, ends your sessions, registered devices and family membership, in one step, immediately. If you own a family, transfer Owner or delete the family first. Shared family records stay with the family until the Owner deletes them. Encrypted backups keep a residual copy for up to three months (7 daily, 4 weekly and 3 monthly snapshots), used only for disaster recovery. Deleting the account does not cancel a store subscription; cancel it in the store. Full steps: claimbell.com/account/delete.

6. Your rights

If you are in the EU, the UK or another place with data-protection rights, you can ask us to show, correct, delete, restrict, export, object to or stop using data about you. You can also complain to your local supervisory authority. Write to hi@claimbell.com from the account's email address; we answer within one month.

7. Children

ClaimBell accounts are for adults, 18 and over. The service is not directed at children under 13, or the local minimum age where you live. An adult adds a minor's dates only with the authority to do so and for a family purpose. We never profile minors or use their data for advertising. Write to hi@claimbell.com to have a minor's information removed.

8. Security

Encrypted transport, signed action links, session and device revocation, tenant boundaries, least-privilege credentials and encrypted backups. No service guarantees absolute security. Report suspected unauthorised access to hi@claimbell.com, and never share an invitation, consent or action link.

9. Changes

If a change would affect what data we touch, we email account holders before it takes effect.
